Punta Cana is one of Latin America's most popular tourist destinations, with more visitors than any country in the Caribbean region.[6] The Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) is located about 30 km inland, on the highway that leads from Higüey to La Romana. This airport receives 64% of all flights that arrive in the country, receiving more passengers than the Las Américas International Airport, located in Santo Domingo, the country's capital.

Santo Domingo is the capital of the Dominican Republic and one of the Caribbean's oldest cities. Its walled, cobblestoned historic core, the Zona Colonial, has buildings that date to the 1500s, including the cathedral, which was the first built in the New World. On the cafe-lined Plaza de España is the Alcázar de Colón palace. It’s now one of the city’s many museums, displaying notable medieval and Renaissance art.

Puerto Plata's tourist centers includes Playa Dorada and Costa Dorada, located to the east of San Felipe of Puerto Plata. There are a total of 100,000 hotel beds in the city,[citation needed] and include a number of "all-inclusive" resort hotels. Puerto Plata is served by Gregorio Luperón International Airport, situated around 15 kilometers to the east of the city, near the town La Union.

Las Terrenas is a town on the northeast coast of the Dominican Republic, located in the province of Samaná. It is known for its scenic landscapes, white sand beaches and clear waters. Tourism in this region is constantly growing due to investments in tourist infrastructure such as hotels, clubs, restaurants and shopping centers such as "Puerto Plaza las Terrenas".
